Quia Angelicis Choris

The latest large painting of angels with gold and silver leaf, when it's dry enough, I'm going to lay it on the floor, varnish it and add some glitter and diamond dust on top of the varnish. So, they will sparkle and glow as you pass by.
This one is 63x54 not stretched, I can offer the large paintings like this so I can just ship it in a tube. Huge price difference than shipping stretched.

St. Raphael

St Raphael, this is 50x20x.8 He's one of my favorite angels, I love the story of Tobit. His feast day is Sept. 29
This painting has some bling in it, not too much, keeping it subtle but he will sparkle at you as you walk by. gold and silver leaf, some glitter and diamond dust. I was inspired by an art exhibit I went to recently of artist that use sparkly things in their works. Some were very blingy and some more subtle, like you didn't notice til you were right in front of the painting.

Chorus Angelorum

I was struggling with my last painting, which rarely happens but when it does, it tells me my style is about to morph.  Here is the first painting, the first of my new series of large abstracts. I've been wanting to paint larger but didn't want to store them, and to ship is very expensive. So, I've decided to offer them not stretched, the buyer would have to have it stretched. For instance, the difference in shipping price to San Fran, stretched $900, rolled in a tube $75

This is 'Chorus Angelorum', 62x53, the stretched size would be 56x46x1.5

The Jam Session

This is my latest, 'The Jam Session' 34x56x1.5 oil on canvas, I labored over it a little but. Every once in a while I get stuck on a composition and have to stop, step back, regroup then work on it til I like it.
I hate when that happens, but I think it happens when your style starts to morph a little.
Anyway, I do like it now, I made a smaller version while I was painting this one.

day 14, R and R

going through my photo's to find inspiration for a painting a day, may have to do some still life, I've not explored that subject matter yet. I see a lot of artists on dailypaintworks  do paintings of mundane things but with their mad crazy talent they make a coffee cup into a very amazing composition and painting. With their use of color, light, placement of objects they can make a usual object into a very unique painting. Anyway, I might give that a go after the weekend, we'll see.

this is my day 14 painting I did from my photo library, acrylic on stretched canvas, 8x8x.5

Day 13 Sitting Pretty

the painting a day, one of the challenges is figuring out what to paint every day. I'm just randomly painting whatever strikes my mood at the moment. Sometimes I look through photo's I've taken like this one of a pretty, soft seagull.
8x8 acrylic

day 12 'Gigi's'

This is a bar I painted many times, love the colors and layout of the place. It was a very popular singles bar in Mizner Park, it has closed but lives on forever in my paintings. This is day 12 in my painting a day challenge to myself.  Got a little behind this week due to a couple of nice sales (not complaining) So now I'm playing catch up.
Also this is the latest in my square foot series.

day 7

Mermaid 2 in my new series of mermaids, I think I may add some sparkles to them, I know artists who use bling & glitter in their works, it's pretty interesting.

Anyway, this is day six in my painting a day, I don't know how long this will go on but it is a challenge. I do want to start a new series of 12x12's, i like that size, it's a square foot

day 6

Mermaid 1
day six of painting a day (5 day workweek)
I was in a street art show a long time ago, there was a black woman artist who painted black mermaids. I wish I had one now, they were so cool and great and they weren't that expensive, I regret not buying one, so I'm starting a series of mermaids.
There's a lot of things that I want to do a series of, like golf courses.
we'll see

painting a day, day 5

ok, I've done a painting a day for five days so far, this is totally challenging so I'm giving myself a 5 day work week because this is like a job, props to the artists that do this for years.
This should make my mad skills better.
Beach Coconuts acrylic on 8x8 stretched canvas, from a photo on my ipad

day 4

day 4:  painted this from one of my beach pics I take with my iphone, than paint from my ipad. This gull was so fabulous, he was loving his life so much, and posed for many pics.
I call this Joie de Vivre, 6x6 acrylic on wood panel

day 3

day 3: while running next to a tall hedge this butterfly flew in my face then landed on a leaf posed for many pictures. 6x6 wood panel

day 2

ok, I'm kind of over this already but am going to do it because it's probably good for something.
It is really a challenge, I have to hand it to the artists that have been doing this for years. It probably does improve skills. I'm just doing whatever hits me at the moment, it could be a small re-do of a favorite painting of mine or whatever catches my attention when I'm out and about, or from old photos that I like.

I want to restore them to take really good photo's of them to put on some of my sites.
